2008 - Breakthrough season highlighted by shock run to first Tour singles title at Stanford (as qualifier, d. No.8 seed Schiavone en route to SF, reaching final when top seed S.Williams ret. w/left knee injury trailing 62 31; d. - In August 2008, was presented with key to the city in Blainville, Québec by the mayor; in 40 years of the city's existence, they renamed it "Wozniakville" for 24 hours because for the first time a woman from Québec won a Tour singles title (she won Stanford in July).
- Received award from the National Assembly of Québec in October 2008 for her career-high ranking of No.37 and first Tour singles title.
