Position: Director, Digital Marketing

The Sony Ericsson WTA Tour is the governing body of the women's professional tennis circuit, and the leading global professional sport for women. The Director of Digital Marketing will have primary responsibility for the project and content management of the Tour's Web site, www.sonyericssonwtatour.com, other related Web sites (including non-English versions of Tour site, social networking, community, and user generated sites along with blogosphere) and mobile sites. As the Tour's operational liaison with its various digital media and marketing vendors, the Director of Digital Marketing will work to ensure the Tour's digital marketing tools continue to evolve and deliver the best online presence for its key constituents. The Director of Digital Marketing will play an important role in the production and execution of the Tour's digital media strategy (with a focus on all things content) as well as communications/PR as it relates to online content.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Digital
* Serving as project manager for all Tour digital media initiatives, managing operations with digital media and marketing partners on the creation of new digital assets and the enhancement of existing ones.
* Manages the delivery of video, photo and editorial content to the Tour's official Web site and other related Web sites (including social networking, community, and user generated sites along with blogosphere) and mobile sites, including the delivery of content by staff members, contractors and external sources.
* Responsibility for the day to day functioning of the Web site and project manager of all intranets/extranets and content delivered to external sites and mobile.
* Serves as liaison with web production consultants. Works closely with creative and engineering groups to manage overall workflow, schedules, design concept, goals, ensuring integration of design requirement into all phases of production of the Web site.
* Responsibility for management of team of web and video editors.
* Works with other staff members to enhance or create new features for the Web site.
* Oversees editing of copy and refreshing of content to keep text and images relevant and current for Web site.
* Oversees posting of results, stories and other content on the Web site.
* Directs graphic designers on layout/design of Web site.
* Participates in business development of the Web site.
* Supports sales and sponsorship efforts as they relate to the Web site.
Communications/PR
* Supports Tour's Communications/PR efforts as they relate to online content.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Team of Web and Video editors
Education/Experience/Competencies Required:
* University degree (BA/BS) in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or equivalent
* 7 years of previous Consumer Content and New Media experience in the sports and/or entertainment industry
* Understanding/working knowledge of SEO, CRM, usability, wireframes, IA, functional specifications
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills/ team-oriented
* Journalistic, creative writing ability and editing experience
* Ability to work efficiently under deadlines.
* Knowledge of media relations and practices
* Computer skills using MS Office, MS Publisher, HTML, ASP and content management systems; understanding of Photoshop, Dreamweaver and other Web-related software
* Must travel up to 20% annually
