Position: Vice President, Digital Marketing

The Sony Ericsson WTA Tour is the governing body of the women's professional tennis circuit, and the leading global professional sport for women. The successful candidate will have experience and expertise in the area of digital marketing, including consumer content, social networks, traffic driving strategy, mobile content/marketing and support of commercial objectives to monetization online assets. The candidate should have a track record of successful management of sports and/or entertainment websites, including management of the team running such site and content populating such site. The successful candidate will also have an understanding of professional sport and the professional sports online marketplace (including mobile content marketplace), along with a firm grasp of online technologies and experience working with digital marketing and website agencies.
The Vice President of Digital Marketing will work closely with the SVP, Global Marketing & Communications on the development and implementation of the Tour's overall marketing strategy, including support for player and tournament members and key Tour partners through online channels. The position will also be responsible for exploring opportunities for joint digital marketing initiatives with other tennis governing bodies and other key tennis stakeholders. The position includes management of a digital marketing and media department, and as such the candidate should have strong management experience. Key objectives for the position will be achievement of agreed upon metrics for growth of the Tour's official website along with the Tour's other online assets (including TennisTV.com) and exposure in digital channels and media, in addition to support of commercial team in achievement of agreed upon online monetization metrics.
Requirements:
* Minimum of ten (10) years' digital marketing experience in sports or entertainment industry, including with respect to website management, consumer content, social networks, mobile content and marketing, traffic driving and monetization of online assets;
* Clear understanding of current technologies involved in internet based applications including CMS, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, ASP, Java, CF, relational databases, XML and RSS;
* Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data and present findings and recommendation;
* Experience in project management, design and development of web based applications;
* Experience with the tools of software development lifecycle and web analytical tools including server and client side measurement methods;
* Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work closely with others in technical and non technical areas;
* Knowledge of current and future trends in the industry including standards, consumer behavior and technology;
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; Masters degree preferred;
* Track record of successfully implemented digital marketing strategies within the sports and/or entertainment industries;
* Experience managing digital marketing and advertising agencies;
* Exceptionally strong verbal and written communications skills with a particular emphasis on the use of the English language;
* Digital Marketing and Tennis industry knowledge;
* Strong managerial effectiveness, leadership and mentoring abilities;
* Ability to create and make effective and persuasive presentations;
* Multilingual - Spanish, French, Russian and/or Chinese preferred; German or Italian also useful
* Ability to travel;
* Computer skills, including operation of Windows systems, PowerPoint; and
* Comfort in working with a small team in an aggressive entrepreneurial yet governing body environment.
