In order to be registered, coaches must be of a certain professional
standard, including (but not limited to):
Coached on the
Sony Ericsson WTA Tour for at least 2 years
Be certified to coach by a National/Professional Organization
Go through a Tour Orientation process
Abide by Coaches Code of Ethics
Endorsed by a player on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour
Purpose of the Registered Coach program:
Achieve recognition and respect for the professional coaches on the
Sony Ericsson WTA Tour
Provide continuing education opportunities specific to the
needs of coaches on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, keeping coaches informed of
the latest trends and information and players at the top of the pack
Create
a directory of Registered Coaches from which players can refer to
when searching for a new coach
Mandate that coaches maintain high
ethical standards
